Makigh in 3 words: Charismatic, Caring, and Unique
Makigh Woods is a Junior Fellow from JCM Early College High. Makigh is a driven and charismatic member of 4-H with a strong passion for Language Arts. He is determined to make a lasting impact in the world and envisions a future where he thrives as a travel nurse or a real estate agent, and lives a debt-free life after college. Makigh's father is his greatest inspiration for how he has served his family.
He values the wisdom of his teacher, Mr. Katras, who has been instrumental in shaping his perspective and personal growth. Describing himself as charismatic, caring, and unique, Makigh believes his superpower lies in his ability to empathize and understand others deeply.
Makigh recognizes the need for more community support in Jackson, especially in fostering financial stability and addressing challenges through better listening and engagement. He believes in the power of ideas and negotiation, seeing himself as a creator of solutions. As someone who embraces being true to himself, he is committed to making a positive difference in his community through leadership and service.
Makigh's goal of leading and connecting people in his community is central to his vision, and his role in the Jackson Grown Leader Fellowship provides a platform to bring his ideas to life. His focus on awareness and collaboration is critical in helping others overcome barriers and challenges, especially as he continues to pursue his own journey of personal and professional growth.
“I remain true to myself, understanding that authenticity is my guiding principle.”
